There is not a lot known about the floral-faunal relationship for Smooth Wild Petunia. What we do know is that this is a host plant for the Common Buckeye butterfly and that some smaller long-tongued bees may visit it (illinoiswildflower.info). It can be a vigorous self-seeder, so be mindful of where you put it and give it room to do its exploding seed thing! It does seem to be deer resistant too. Smooth Wild Petunia is considered endangered in Michigan (mnfi.anr.msu.edu).
